The district class Magdeburg-Anhalt 1938/39 was the sixth season of the second-rate district class Magdeburg-Anhalt, which has been the substructure of the Gauliga Mitte since 1933 . Due to the rise of FV Fortuna Magdeburg , the field of participants for this season decreased again to eleven clubs. The coveted championship pennant and with it the chance of a possibly own Gauliga promotion, conquered the convincing and constant FC Preußen Burg . Germania's novices from Wernigerode and the men from Tangermünde stood up for a long time and kept the championship extremely exciting. The second newcomer from Staßfurt also offered a commendable seasonal performance. Again, rather disappointing, on the other hand, the performance of the Magdeburg 99-Prussians. In the fortieth year since the club was founded, they barely missed a complete embarrassment. Political calamity sent up a rousing, negative harbingers. The regions around Harz and Altmark found themselves unable to provide competitive teams and cover all travel costs for the coming season due to the war-related squad problems. Thus, the table second Wernigerode, the third Tangermünde, the sixth Stendal and the seventh Halberstadt decided at the beginning of the new series due to personnel reduction not to exercise their right to start and to give it up voluntarily. The FC 1915 Mildensee and VfL Viktoria-Neustadt in 1860 , only two years ago, the successor of the bankrupt predecessor association Magdeburg FC Viktoria 1896 antretend, descended into the less noticed low ranks. Since the field of participants should definitely be reduced for the coming season, three official relegated teams were played out, once in history. As a climber, SV 07 Bernburg and for the first time VfB Groß-Ottersleben completed the next year's 1939/40 district class season.
