Location of the venues in Europe |
In the 1984/85 season , the Biathlon World Cup was held for the 8th time. The competition series consisted of five individual, five sprint and three relay races for men and was held at five venues. In addition to the five World Cup events in Minsk , Oberhof , Antholz , Lahti and Oslo , the world championships for men were held in Ruhpolding, Germany, and for women in Egg am Etzel, Switzerland, but the results were not included in the World Cup ranking. A new point system was introduced this season , in which the first three places received more points. Frank-Peter Roetsch won the overall men's world cup ahead of Juri Kaschkarow and Peter Angerer .
