Bompas is a southern French municipality in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitanie region and has 7254 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). Bompas belongs to the Arrondissement of Perpignan and the Canton of Perpignan-2 . The inhabitants are called Bompassencqs .

Bompas is not far from the Golfe du Lion on the north bank of the Têt . Bompas is surrounded by the neighboring communities Claira in the north and north-east, Villelongue-de-la-Salanque in the east, Perpignan in the south and west and Pia in the north and north-west.
