Rivesaltes ( Catalan : Ribesaltes ) is a municipality with 8610 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitania region in southern France . The municipality is located about eight kilometers north of Perpignan and ten kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The inhabitants are called Rivesaltais .

Rivesaltes is the namesake for the Rivesaltes wine-growing region and for the Muscat de Rivesaltes . In the municipality, wines are also grown under the designations of origin Côtes du Roussillon and Côtes du Roussillon-Villages .
