Canohès Town Hall

Canohès ( Catalan: Cànoes ) is a French commune with 6,097 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Perpignan and is part of the canton of Perpignan-5 . The inhabitants are called Canouhards .

geography

The Canal de Perpignan runs through the municipality . Canohès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Toulouges in the north, Perpignan in the northeast, Pollestres in the east, Pontella in the south and Thuir in the west.

The former route nationale 612a (today as Départementstraße 612a) runs along the northern edge of the municipality .
