The Bundestag constituency Mecklenburgische Seenplatte II - Landkreis Rostock III (constituency 17) is a constituency in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the elections to the German Bundestag . It includes the cities of Dargun , Demmin , Neustrelitz and Waren (Müritz) as well as the offices of Demmin-Land , Malchin am Kummerower See , Malchow , Mecklenburgische Kleinseenplatte , Neustrelitz-Land , Penzliner Land , Röbel-Müritz , Lakeland Waren , Stavenhagen and Treptower Tollensewinkel as well as from the Rostock district the cities of Güstrow and Teterow and the offices of Bützow-Land , Gnoien , Güstrow-Land , Krakow am See , Laage and Mecklenburg Switzerland . With an area of 6,250.3 square kilometers, this constituency is the largest of all 299 constituencies in Germany.

history
In the course of the reorganization of the constituencies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania before the federal election in 2002, the constituency was made up of parts of the former constituencies of Wismar - Gadebusch - Grevesmühlen - Doberan - Bützow , Güstrow - Sternberg - Lübz - Parchim - Ludwigslust , Rostock-Land - Ribnitz-Damgarten - Teterow - Malchin , Neubrandenburg - Altentreptow - Waren - Röbel and Neustrelitz - Strasburg - Pasewalk - Ueckermünde - Anklam newly formed.
Originally the constituency consisted of the former Güstrow , Müritz and Bad Doberan districts. Before the 2005 federal election, the municipalities of Graal-Müritz and Sanitz and the offices of Carbäk , Rostocker Heide and Tessin-Land were transferred from the Bad Doberan district to the Rostock federal constituency .
For the 2013 federal election , the constituency gave up the north-western part of the Rostock district and received the northern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District . In addition, the name of the constituency was changed to Mecklenburg Lake District II - Rostock III district .
