criticism

Burn It Down received mostly positive reviews.

Rick Florino from Artistdirect writes that it is a classic Linkin Park song, but with a new fire. Bennington's hookline is unforgettable and the band has never been so fiery, which he sees as a reason for Living Things to act as a contender for album of the year. The rating is the full number of five possible stars.

Rolling Stone awards three out of five stars and criticizes Bennington's "tormented yelps" in the chorus, but on the other hand he also delivers some of his most beautiful verses to date. To some extent, there is a certain poetry that draws a sharp line between the smooth and the rough.

Remix

As part of Living Things Remixed , those who pre-ordered the album received at least one remix of a song from Living Things every month for eight months . On June 1st, 2012 the first track, Burn It Down (RAC Mix) , was sent out. Another three Burn It Down remixes followed in July, August and October : Paul van Dyk Remix , Swoon Remix and Bobina Remix .

On the remix album Recharged , which was released on October 25, 2013 , the Swoon Remix also appeared, now as Tom Swoon Remix . The Paul van Dyk remix served as a bonus track for pre-orderers.
