Location of the municipality

Castril is a municipality in the province of Granada ( Spain ). It is located at 911  msnm at the foot of the Sierra de Castril mountains .

The townscape is characterized by steep streets and nested houses. Only ruins can be seen of the old Moorish castle.

economy

Castril lives mainly from agriculture, sheep breeding - with a predominant proportion of the Segura sheep , a local breed - and forestry. The main attraction of the place is its location as a starting point for visits to the Sierra de Castril Natural Park .
