The men's competition was won by Mohamed Elshorbagy , who was victorious in the final with 11: 6, 5:11, 11: 4, 7:11 and 11: 3 against Ali Farag . It was his third title win at this tournament. In the women’s final , Nour El Sherbini prevailed against Raneem El Weleily 11: 5, 11: 8 and 11: 5.
The fields of participants in the men's and women's competitions each consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded for the men and the 16 best women for the women. Per Wildcard received Liu Tsz-Ling and Leo Au a starting place in the respective main field.
At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money for the men was 165,000 US dollars and for the women 140,000 US dollars.
