Daytime Emmy Awards 2020

The 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards took place on June 6, 2020 and was broadcast live by CBS from the Las Vegas Hilton . The nominations were announced on May 21st.

The 47th Daytime Emmy Awards were originally scheduled to take place from June 12th to 14th over three nights at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena , California . In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States , the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences anticipated not to stick to these plans and canceled the event. Nevertheless, the organization continued to work on a possible replacement event. On April 28th the plans were so far advanced that a virtual ceremony could be announced, but without a fixed date. This also applied to the Sports Emmys and the News & Documentary Emmys. Finally, on May 20th, June 26th was announced as the broadcast date on CBS. This was the first broadcast of the award since 2014. The award shows from 2015 to 2019 were streamed . One day after the date was announced, the nominations were announced on the talk show The Talk . The Talk moderation team also hosted the event.

However, only the main categories were awarded when it was broadcast, while some other winners were only announced via Twitter .
