Tuesday December 1st
- Bologna / Kingdom of Italy : The five brothers Alfieri , Bindo , Carlo , Ernesto and Ettore Maserati found the sports car manufacturer Società Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati . Their chosen trident as a trademark, the Tridente , comes from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
- Carpathian Mountains / Galicia : The battle of Limanowa – Lapanow - part of the battle in the Carpathian Mountains in World War I - begins. The counterattack ordered by the Austro-Hungarian Chief of the General Staff, Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf , is necessary to prevent an attempt to break through by the Russian 3rd Army with around 125,000 men into northern Hungary.
- United Kingdom : The HMS Raglan , a monitor of Abercrombie class , is launched. It is named after the British general Baron Raglan .
- South African Union : Government troops arrest Boer General Christiaan de Wet in the north-west of the country . A few weeks earlier he had announced the independence of the Orange Free State .
Wednesday December 2nd
- Berlin / German Empire : Karl Liebknecht is the first and initially only SPD member of the Reichstag to vote against the extension of the war credits . It was not until January 1915 that he, together with Otto Rühle and others, formed an opposition to the German war efforts and the war affirmation of the SPD majority within the SPD parliamentary group.
- German Empire: Adolf Hitler is awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for unknown reasons .
- Austria-Hungary : Built entirely of wood watchers Gorge Bridge is named in honor of the 66th anniversary of government Emperor Franz Joseph I opened.
- Belgrade / Kingdom of Serbia : As part of the Battle of the Kolubara , Austro-Hungarian troops conquer the capital of Serbia.
Thursday 3rd December
- Catchment area of the Kolubara / Kingdom of Serbia : The Serbian army, under the leadership of Radomir Putnik and Živojin Mišić, begins a counter-offensive against the Austro-Hungarian armed forces in the course of the Battle of the Kolubara , which completely surprises the Austrians, who are certain of victory.
- United Kingdom : The first test vehicles of the Rolls-Royce Armored Cars reach the frontline of the First World War ; regular use begins in April 1915 .
Tuesday December 8th
- Paris / France : The French government is moving its headquarters back to Paris. This ends a two-month episode in which the government resided in Bordeaux .
Thursday December 10th
- Stockholm / Sweden : No Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded this year . A Nobel Prize goes to the German Reich (physics, Max von Laue ) and one to Austria-Hungary (medicine, Robert Bárány ).

- Sultanate of Egypt : The United Kingdom deposed the Khedive Abbas Hilmi II and encouraged his uncle, Hussein Kamil , to proclaim a sultanate and to declare himself sultan. At the same time, Great Britain is setting up a commissioner in the country, the Protectorate of Egypt.

Armenian Battalion (November or December 1914)
- Eastern Anatolia : The troops of the Ottoman Empire , under the command of Enver Pasha in Bardız and Oltu, begin the attack on the troops of the Russian Empire , opening the battle of Sarıkamış . These end in a heavy defeat for them, so that they have to retreat on January 5, 1915 and lose about half of their 120,000 soldiers in the fighting.
Friday December 25th
- Cuxhaven / Empire : From aircraft mother ships , which are secured by British warships, attacks the Royal Naval Air Service to Zeppelin harbor north woods in to post a German air strike on the United Kingdom to defeat.

- United Kingdom : A Study in Scarlet is released. It is the film adaptation of A Study in Scarlet , in which Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson investigating a murder on a Mormon trek . The next day a film of the same name was released in the United States .
Tuesday December 29th
- United States : The feature film A Study in Scarlet is released. As in the film version of the same name published in England the day before , it is about Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson investigating a murder on a Mormon trek .
- Belgium : The newspapers cease to appear and Cardinal Désiré Mercier , Archbishop of Mechlin-Brussels , calls on his compatriots to passively resist the German occupation forces.
Wednesday December 30th
- United Kingdom : The Royal Navy orders the battlecruisers HMS Repulse and HMS Renown . Both are designed in response to the new German battle cruisers. The HMS Repulse is by John Brown & Company in Clydebank built and the HMS Renown by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd. in Glasgow .
