The Pueblo Libre District is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana Region in Peru . It covers an area of ​​4.38 km². The 2017 census counted 83,323 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 74,054, in 2007 74,164. The district was founded on January 2, 1859.

Geographical location

The Pueblo Libre district is located 5 km southwest of the city center of Lima at an altitude of about 90  m . The Pueblo Libre district borders on the San Miguel district to the west, the Lima and Breña districts to the north, the Jesús María district to the east and the Magdalena del Mar district to the south .

Attractions

The Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú is located in the Plaza Bolívar in the Pueblo Libre .
