The San Miguel District is one of the 43 boroughs of the Lima Metropolitana Region in Peru . It has an area of ​​10.72 km². The 2017 census counted 155,384 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 117,488, in 2007 129,107. The district was founded on May 10, 1920. The district is at a height of 45  m . The Huaca Cruz Blanca archaeological site is located in the Parque de las Leyendas .

Geographical location

The San Miguel district is located on the Pacific coast 7.4 km southwest of downtown Lima. It has a 4 km long coastline and extends 3.6 km inland. The district is bordered to the west by the La Perla district ( Callao province ), to the northwest by the Bellavista district (both in the Callao province), to the northeast by the Lima district (Cercado de Lima) and to the east by the Pueblo Libre and Magdalena districts del Mar .
