The Santa Anita District is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana Region in Peru . It has an area of ​​10.69 km². The 2017 census counted 196,214 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 119,659, in 2007 184,614. The district was established on October 25, 1989. The district is at an altitude of 240  m .

Geographical location

The Santa Anita district is located south of the Río Rímac 6.5 km east of Lima city center. It has a longitudinal extension in the WSW-ONO direction of 5.4 km and a width of almost 2.3 km. The district borders in the west and north on the district Ate and in the east and south on the El Agustino .
