The Punta Hermosa district is one of the 43 municipalities in the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . It has an area of ​​119.5 km². The 2017 census counted 15,874 residents. In 1993 the population was 3281, in 2007 it was 5762. The administrative center is Punta Hermosa. The national road 1S ( Panamericana ) crosses the district not far from the coast.

Geographical location

The Punta Hermosa district is located in the south of the Lima Province , 40 km southeast of Lima city ​​center . The district has a stretch of almost 5.5 km on the Pacific coast and extends almost 25 km inland, where the foothills of the Peruvian Western Cordillera rise. The district is bordered by the Lurín district in the north, the Santo Domingo de los Olleros district ( Huarochirí province ) in the east and the Punta Negra district in the south .
