The Surquillo District is one of the 43 boroughs of the Lima Metropolitana Region in Peru . It has an area of 4.49 km². The 2017 census counted 91,023 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 88,464, in 2007 89,283. The district was established on July 15, 1949. The district is at an altitude of 105 m .
Geographical location
The Surquillo District is 8.2 km south of downtown Lima. It has a lengthwise extension in east-west direction of almost 3.5 km and a maximum width of 1.9 km. The main streets Avenida Agamos (in east-west direction) and Avenida Tomas Marsano (in NNW-SSE direction) cut through the district. The district of Surquillo borders in the south and west on the district Miraflores , in the north on the district San Isidro , in the east on the districts San Borja and Santiago de Surco .
