The El Agustino District is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana Region in Peru . It has an area of ​​12.54 km². 198,862 inhabitants were counted in the 2017 census. In 1993 the population was 154,028, in 2007 180,262. The district was established on January 6, 1965. The district administration is at an altitude of 197  m .

Geographical location

The district of El Agustino is located south of the Río Rímac 4.6 km east of downtown Lima. It borders in the north on the district of San Juan de Lurigancho , in the east on the districts Ate and Santa Anita , in the south on the district San Luis and in the west on the district Lima (Cercado de Lima).
