The district of San Isidro is one of the 43 municipalities of the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . It has an area of ​​11.1 km². The 2017 census counted 60,735 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 63,004, in 2007 it was 58,056. The district was founded on April 24, 1931.

Geographical location

The San Isidro district is 7 km south-southwest of downtown Lima. An approximately 900 m long stretch of coast belongs to the district. The district is bordered to the west by the district Magdalena del Mar , on the north by the districts of Jesus Maria , Lince and La Victoria , on the east by the district of San Borja and to the south by the districts of Surquillo and Miraflores .
