The Santiago de Surco district is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . It has an area of ​​52 km². The 2017 census counted 329,152 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 200,732, in 2007 289,597. The district was established on December 16, 1929. The district is at an altitude of 72  m .

Geographical location

The Santiago de Surco district is located 11.4 km southeast of downtown Lima. It has a longitudinal extension in SSW-NNE direction of 12 km and a maximum width of 4.2 km. The district borders in the west on the districts of Barranco , Miraflores , Surquillo and San Borja , in the north on the district Ate , in the east on the districts La Molina and San Juan de Miraflores and in the south on the district Chorrillos .
