The district of La Victoria is one of the 43 municipalities of the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . It has an area of ​​8.74 km². The 2017 census counted 173,630 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 226,857, in 2007 192,724. The district was established on February 2, 1920. The district administration is located at an altitude of 133  m .

Geographical location

The La Victoria district is 2 km south of Lima city center. The district has a maximum longitudinal extent in NNW-SSE direction of 3.7 km and a maximum width of 3.6 km. The district borders in the west and north with the district Lima (Cercado de Lima), in the northeast with the district El Agustino , in the east with the district San Luis , in the southeast with the district San Borja , in the south with the district San Isidro as well as in Southwest to the Lince district .
