The Magdalena del Mar district is one of the 43 urban districts of the Lima Metropolitana region in Peru . It has an area of 3.61 km². The 2017 census counted 60,290 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 48,963, in 2007 it was 50,764. The district was founded on May 10, 1920.
Geographical location
The Magdalena del Mar district is located on the Pacific coast 6.4 km southwest of downtown Lima. An approximately 1900 m long stretch of coast belongs to the district. The Magdalena del Mar district borders on the San Miguel to the west, the Pueblo Libre and Jesús María districts to the north, and the San Isidro district to the east .
