history

Until the church is planted

The location near Lake Starnberg probably prompted the first Iringers to build the old Iringsburg in the Loisach Valley . The Hofmark the iRinger - which gave the community the name - ranged from Herrenhausen to Lake Starnberg and from Wolfratshausen as far as the territory of the monastery Benediktbeuern .

Albert von Iringsburg was banned from the church by Pope Gregory as a supporter of Emperor Henry IV . As atonement for her husband and father, Berta von Iringsburg and her sons Otto and Eberhard founded the Augustinian Monastery of Beuerberg in 1121 . The monastery looked after the church institutions of the whole Hofmark.

The "Leuchtenberger" Duke Albrecht VI. had the old Iringsburg demolished in 1626. The present castle was built in the late Renaissance style on the Tischberg above the city. It is unclear who drew up the plans for the palace; the Peter Candid mentioned again and again in the literature is not recorded in Eurasburg. In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

20th century

In 1976, the castle and its valuable interior fell victim to a fire. In the rebuilt castle there are now only condominiums.
