The Ice Hockey Regionalliga 1968/69 was the fourth season of the third highest division in German ice hockey after the Bundesliga and the Oberliga . It was divided into a north and a south group. The results and the final table of the Northern group are not known.
From each group three teams qualified for the qualifying round for the ice hockey league 1969/70 . The TuS Holzkirchen , the EV Ravensburg and the EV Pfronten prevailed in the south and rose to the top division. In the north group, ERC Westfalen Dortmund rose, while Hamburger SV moved up to the top league after withdrawals.
Regionalliga North
The exact field of participants and the mode of the Northern group are unclear. Participants in the qualifying round North for the Oberliga 1969/70 were:
The Hamburger SC team had joined Hamburger SV before the season .
The Regionalliga Nord was the lowest division in northern Germany. Up to four interested teams per season had the opportunity to join the game.
Regional league south
Attendees
The EV Regensburg was promoted to runner-up in the Bavarian State League . He merged with SV Donaustauf before the season. The champions of the Landesliga EV Berchtesgaden took part in the new ice hockey Bayernliga instead .
The ERV Ravensburg was renamed EV Ravensburg. The SC Reichersbeuern team had joined the EC Bad Tölz for lack of their own artificial ice stadium. Likewise, the team from SC Ziegelwies , relegated from the major league, joined EV Füssen. Both teams started as 1b of their club in the Regionalliga Süd.

- EV Ravensburg (relegated)
- EV Regensburg-Donaustauf (newcomer)

The seven teams played a single round. The best three qualified for the qualifying round south for the Oberliga 1969/70 .
In the Regionalliga Süd 1969/70 the champions of the Bavarian League could rise.
