The Regionalliga 1969/70 was the fifth season of the third highest division in German ice hockey under this name. As in previous years, it was held in two regional groups, North and South. The two group winners played the regional league championship, with the Berlin ice skating club prevailing against EV Regensburg -Donaustauf.

Subsequently, places 1 to 3 of the group south and the two best teams of the group north, which were not a second team of a club, played the qualifying round for the single-track ice hockey league 1970/71 with the worse teams of the corresponding league group . The EV Mittenwald and the Berlin ice skating club were able to qualify for the major league.

Regionalliga Nord 1969/70

Attendees

The Berlin ice-skating club had withdrawn from the Oberliga Nord to the regional league, but the Hamburger SV team moved up to the Oberliga.

The following seven teams took part in the league:

The seven teams played a single round. The two best teams that were not 2nd teams of a club qualified for the qualifying round North for the Oberliga 1970/71 .

Interested teams were promoted to the Regionalliga Nord.

Attendees

The EC Bad Tölz 1b had withdrawn from the regional league. The relegated from the Oberliga SC Garmisch-Partenkirchen had been renamed EV Mittenwald . New to the league was the Bayernliga champions EV Landshut 1b.
