Frank Müller-Rosentritt , born Müller (born June 13, 1982 in Karl-Marx-Stadt , now: Chemnitz ) is a German politician ( FDP ). The graduate in business administration has been a member of the 19th German Bundestag since the federal election on September 24, 2017 and chairman of the FDP Saxony since November 2, 2019 .

Life

His parents come from Annaberg-Buchholz and Crottendorf in the Ore Mountains . His mother is the director of a school, his father is an entrepreneur. Müller-Rosentritt was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1982 and spent his childhood in Gersdorf in the lower Western Ore Mountains. He is married to Caroline Rosentritt, who has a PhD in industrial engineering and has been using the name Müller-Rosentritt since their marriage . The couple has three daughters and lives in the Chemnitz district of Reichenbrand .

Study and job

Müller-Rosentritt graduated from the Lessing-Gymnasium in Hohenstein-Ernstthal in 2001 . From 2001 to 2002 he was a medical soldier in the Bundeswehr and a trumpeter in Army Music Corps 13 in Erfurt . He studied from 2002 to 2005 at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart and graduated with a degree in business administration (BA) . From 2002 he worked for Deutsche Bank AG and, among other things, for Deutsche Bank in New York in 2005 . From 2005 to 2010 he worked at Deutsche Bank Baden-Baden and in 2011 became Head of Private Banking at Deutsche Bank in Dresden .

Entrepreneurial activity

Müller-Rosentritt has been the managing partner of the Chemnitzer Grundbesitzgesellschaft bR, which he co-founded, and of Kamenica Immobilien GmbH since 2016. Both are asset management companies.

Politics or party career

After the FDP left the Bundestag in the 2013 general election, Müller-Rosentritt joined the Saxon State Association of Free Democrats in 2014 to actively participate in the reconstruction of the Liberals. In 2016 he was nominated as a direct candidate for the FDP for the Bundestag constituency 162 (Chemnitz) and in 2017 he was elected deputy state chairman of the FDP Saxony . Politically, he is primarily committed to strengthening Saxony as a business location, a Saxon start-up culture and stronger international networking of the Free State of Saxony, as well as democracy and intercultural education. In the local elections on May 26, 2019, he was elected to the Chemnitz City Council for the FDP Chemnitz. On November 2, 2019, he was elected regional chairman of the FDP Saxony in Neukieritzsch.

Member of Parliament

In the federal election on September 24, 2017 , he received a mandate in the 19th German Bundestag via third place on the state list of the FDP Saxony . As part of his parliamentary activities, he is present in Chemnitz as well as in the districts of the Erzgebirge , Central Saxony and Vogtland .

In the Bundestag, Müller-Rosentritt has been a full member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the subcommittee for foreign cultural and educational policy since January 2018 . He is also a deputy member of the Finance Committee .

  • For many years, Frank Müller-Rosentritt has been a trumpeter with the Heidelbachtal Musicians, a brass band in the Ore Mountains.
