geography
location
The Frauenberg rises in the south of the main ridge of the Lahnberge ridge, which extends in a north-south direction. While parts of its north, west and south slopes belong to Marburg's urban area, the high elevations with the summit are part of the municipality of Ebsdorfergrund . The volcanic basalt - summit of the mountain is slightly to the north - to the center of Lahnberge - inclined, while a little less steep, but very deep to the state road 3089 Cappel- to the south of the mountain Ebsdorf at altitudes around 200 m flattens. The saddle to the southern Lahn Mountains, never exceeding 300 m , is located on the state road southeast of the summit, at an altitude of about 250 m .
The summit region of the Frauenberg and the lower parts of its north, west and south flanks are forested; An agriculturally used area stretches around the summit region. The nature reserve Frauenberg near Beltershausen ( CDDA no. 163142; designated 1985; 9.81 hectares ) is located on its high altitude .
