report

Patrick Tambay won in the Ferrari ahead of the Tifosi . It was an almost perfect weekend for Scuderia Ferrari, after René Arnoux secured pole position on Saturday and finished 3rd in the race. Alain Prost finished second in the Renault . For Riccardo Patrese the race was a disappointment. Shortly after overtaking the leader Patrick Tambay, he left the track with his Brabham BMW and hit the tire wall in Acque Mineralli, whereupon he had to end the race.
