Håvard Tveite

Håvard Tveite (born March 5, 1962 ) is a former Norwegian orienteer .

Tveite won two relay world titles in 1987 and 1989. In 1990 and 1992 he was Nordic champion with the Norwegian relay. His greatest individual success was winning the overall World Cup in 1990 ahead of Swedes Niklas Löwegren and Jörgen Mårtensson . Before that he had finished third in the overall World Cup in 1988 behind Øyvin Thon and Mårtensson.

At world championships he won two gold medals and one silver and one bronze medal with the 1989 relay as well as a bronze medal over the long individual distance when his compatriot Petter Thoresen won . A year later he was second on the Danish island of Fanø behind the Dane Allan Mogensen .

Tveite started for the Ås IL and NTHI clubs . With NTHI he won the Jukola in 1989 and 1990 . At Norwegian championships between 1985 and 2002 he was successful a total of 20 times.
