The Heidberg is a nature reserve in the city of Quedlinburg and the municipality of Ditfurt in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0151 is around 119  hectares in size. It is largely from the conservation area surrounded "resin and flood plains". The area has been under protection since 1997 (date of regulation: January 9, 1997). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Harz district.

The nature reserve is north of Quedlinburg on the eastern part of the eponymous mountain. It protects a predominantly dry and warm location on gently sloping slopes. There are also steeper rocks to be found in the northwest of the protected area. Larger parts of the protected area are occupied by forest areas made of Scots pine . In addition, birch , winter linden , locust and hybrid poplar also grow . Lean sand , dry and semi-arid lawns with sloe and elder bushes settle in open areas . There are also sandy areas free of vegetation. There are also meadows with extensive oat populations. The meadows are mowed irregularly, so that ruderal vegetation appears in places .

In the area of the nature reserve different plant communities grow, including Cudweed spring fescue corridors along roadsides on Kreidesandstein- weathered soils , Schwingel- silver grass corridors on low humus peaks and on the sandstone cliffs, milkweed Heather companies, often together with Schlängelschmielen-birch forests on dry residual soils and sorrel -Straußgras companies with heather carnation , straw flower , golden thistle and serradella.

The nature reserve is u. a. Habitat for barn swallow , woodlark and mistletoe , all of which also breed here. Various bat species are also native, including brown long-eared , gray long-eared and fringed bat .

The nature reserve borders in the northwest on the forest on the hilltop of the Heidberg. Otherwise it is mainly surrounded by agricultural land .
