Hirschfeld and Niedercrinitz belonged to the Amt Zwickau from 1606 and from 1764 to the Amt Wiesenburg , which was renamed the Amt Kirchberg in 1843. In 1856 both places came to the Kirchberg court office and since 1875 they belonged to the Zwickau administration , the successor of which was the Zwickau district. In 1912 the Hirschfeld district of Lauterholz was reassigned to Lauterhofen .

Voigtsgrün belonged to the Zwickau office and came to the Kirchberg court office in 1856 and to the Zwickau office in 1875. On July 1, 1950 Voigtsgrün was incorporated into Hirschfeld.

Niedercrinitz was incorporated into Hirschfeld in 1998.

The Voigtsgrün district is located directly at the Zwickau-West motorway junction (junction 10) of the A 72 . A rest area on the A 72 was named after Niedercrinitz . Furthermore, the Vogtlandbahn stops in Voigtsgrün on the way from Zwickau to Klingenthal . The districts of Hirschfeld and Voigtsgrün received a bypass in the course of the construction of a motorway feeder (central route) , which was opened to traffic on September 11, 2008.

Public facilities

The Hirschfeld zoo is located in the Voigtsgrün district . Hirschfeld has a primary school and a school for the mentally handicapped.

Religions

Michaeliskirche Hirschfeld

The ev.-luth. Michaelisgemeinde Hirschfeld forms a parish with the municipality in the neighboring village of Ebersbrunn . The parish Niedercrinitz and the neighboring town of Culitzsch belong to the Michaelis parish of Wilkau-Haßlau .

Personalities

  • Gottlob Leberecht Schulze (1779–1856), theologian and educator, was born in Hirschfeld.
  • Oswald Bleier (1889–1936), politician (KPD), anti-fascist resistance fighter and member of the state parliament of Saxony, was born in the Voigtsgrün district.
  • Heini Scheffler (* 1925), draftsman and caricaturist for the Free Press , lived in Niedercrinitz for a few years.
  • Wolf Günther Koch (* 1943), cartographer and university professor, was born in Hirschfeld.
