Ikusaka ( Japanese : 生 坂 村 , -mura ) is a mountain village in Higashichikuma-gun in Nagano Prefecture on the Japanese main island of Honshū .
geography
Ikusaka is located in the Sai Gorge , which is dammed up here by the Ikusaka dam to form a lake. The terrain is very mountainous overall. Adjacent municipalities are the major cities ( Shi ) Azumino , Nagano and Ōmachi as well as the Kitaazumi-gun city ( machi ) Ikeda and the Higashichikuma-gun villages Chikuhoku and Omi .
history
On January 23, 1875, four settlements were united. This new administrative unit was first named Ikusaka. On April 1, 1889, with the establishment of the modern communal system, it achieved its current status as a village in the sense of "administrative village". On March 31, 1957, Ikusaka was slammed into some neighboring villages that had been independent until then.
traffic
National Road 19 runs through Ikusaka from Nagano to Nagoya . Local public transport is served by buses. There is no connection to the railway network.
Educational institutions
There is a primary school and a middle school in Ikusaka.
Attractions
There are several landscape parks in Ikusaka. Including a section of the Hijiriyama Kōgen Nature Park ( Hijiriyama kōgen kenritsu shizen kōen ) and the Takatsuya Forest Park ( Takatsuya shinrin kōen )
