The Bielefeld-Senne correctional facility is an open prison facility with two detention centers in Bielefeld-Senne and Bielefeld-Ummeln and several branch offices. The institute with its branch offices is located in the greater Bielefeld area in the Detmold administrative district in northeast North Rhine-Westphalia . With its branches in Beckum , Boke , Brockhagen , Clarholz , Espeln , Gröblingen , Herzebrock , Nordhagen , Oelde , Pavenstädt , Rietberg , Steinhagen , Theenhausen , Verl , Westerwiehe and Westkirchen , it is the largest institution of its kind in Europe .

history

In 1907 the administration of prisoners' workplaces was founded in the Wiedenbrück district . On January 1, 2010 the JVA Bielefeld-Brackwede II was attached to the JVA Senne, creating the largest open JVA in Europe. With 1,358 prison places and around 320 employees, Bielefeld-Senne was already the largest open penal institution in Germany. Bielefeld-Brackwede II had 363 open prison places. About a hundred servants worked here.

Jurisdiction

The JVA Bielefeld-Senne is responsible for the execution of:

• Substitute imprisonment (if not in interruption of pre-trial detention or deportation detention ) for men and women
• Imprisonment (first and regular execution ) for convicts who are at large on men and women
• Imprisonment in accordance with special provisions ( progression ) for men and women
• Imprisonment of more than two years according to the result of the induction procedure for men in open prison.

The competences of the penal institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia are regulated in the enforcement plan for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Education and training

Vocational training for prisoners is also offered in the JVA Bielefeld-Senne . There are 26 training positions available. Carriers of the training is the Berufsförderungswerk of the German Federal union . Be formed:

• Vegetable growing , ornamental plant growing and tree nursery (modular qualification, 20 places)
• Building cleaner (modular qualification, six places)
• Cook (six training positions)
• Entry-level qualification measures in the hospitality industry and warehouse logistics (two places each)
• Cook and kitchen help (only for female prisoners)

Jobs in the prison

The JVA Bielefeld-Senne has 420 positions. The prison management consists of three employees. Four clergymen , two doctors , seven psychologists and 15 social workers are also provided. The General Enforcement Service has 320 posts. BfW trainers employ five. The remaining positions are in the administration area.
