Jozef de Beenhouwer (born March 26, 1948 in Brasschaat ) is a Belgian-Flemish pianist, music teacher and musicologist.

Beenhouwer's first piano teacher was his paternal grandfather. As a child and as a teenager he became familiar with the music of Robert Schumann . After completing his pharmacy studies at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1970, Beenhouwer studied piano at the Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth in Waterloo (graduation 1974) and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerp (diploma for piano with summa cum laude). Between 1991 and 1998, Beenhouwer took lessons from David Kimbal in Florence.

Beenhouwer made numerous international radio and television recordings. He was one of the first pianists to record the complete works of Clara Schumann . In 1993, Beenhouwer received the Robert Schumann Prize of the city of Zwickau for his special services to the music of Clara and Robert Schumann . For his recordings by Peter Benoit and Joseph Ryelandt , he received the Caecilia Prize from the Association of Belgian Music Critics. Beenhouwer often acts as a juror in piano competitions, especially in Robert Schumann competitions. In 1983 Beenhouwer followed his teacher Lode Backx as professor at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. From 1990 to 2015 Beenhouwer was director of the Brussels Lunch Time Concerts.
