Kümmritz ( Lower Sorbian Komorica ) is a district of the city of Luckau in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . The place was incorporated on December 31, 1999 and was previously an independent municipality.

The place Kümmritz is located in Niederlausitz , about nine kilometers northeast of the Luckau core town. The district borders in the north on the municipality of Drahnsdorf , in the northeast on the district Jetsch of the municipality Kasel-Golzig , in the east on Zieckau , in the south on Paserin , in the southwest on the district Pitschen-Pickel of the municipality Heideblick and in the west on the municipality Dahmetal belonging to the district Wildau-Wentdorf .

By Kümmritz situated on the county road 6138. At the district border Drahnsdorf flows Dahme , south of Kümmritz flows Schuge .

history

Kümmritz was first mentioned in a document on June 18, 1450 as Kümmeriez . Other earlier place names were Kommeriecz (1527) and Kummeritz . The place name is derived from Komorica , the Lower Sorbian word for mosquito .

Since 1952 Kümmritz belonged to the Luckau district in the Cottbus district . From May 25, 1992 to December 30, 1999, the municipality Kümmritz together with 15 other municipalities and the city of Luckau formed the office of Luckau . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Kümmritz was incorporated into the newly formed district of Dahme-Spreewald . On December 31, 1999, Kümmritz was incorporated into the city of Luckau together with five other communities .

Sights and culture

The village church Kümmritz is a stone church from the middle of the 14th century, which was extended by a church tower in the second half of the 17th century . In the interior there is an altar from the beginning of the 18th century in the form of an aedicula .
