prehistory
The mayor's office in Kirchhoven was composed around 1830 as follows. The Kirchdorf Kirchhoven and the villages Entebruch, Heuchden, Leick, Lumbach, Schutdorf and Finne. There are also some farms and hamlets . All villages belonged to a mayor's office, but were in themselves separate village and living communities. On the Tranchot map from 1803 to 1820, the individual villages are clearly recognizable. Small chapels, crucifixes and wayside shrines were built in the villages as a sign of deep faith and a close togetherness . This is how a chapel was built in Lieck.
History and architecture
In 1928, the Krings siblings donated the old manor house with property from 1663 to the parish of Kirchhoven in order to set up a home for the elderly . The building was converted into a monastery with a chapel and a home for the elderly and inaugurated on October 12, 1930. The house was taken over from Divine Providence by five sisters from Mainz . A kindergarten and a sewing school were also operated. In 1932 the St. Martini Rifle Brotherhood in Lieck donated a bell to the monastery . Unfortunately, it was melted down during World War II . After the chaos of the war with evacuation to Thuringia and the return to Lieck, outpatient nursing was devoted to . On October 4, 1958, the St. Martin Brotherhood Lieck donated a bell to the monastery again, which had a price of 424 DM. In 1987 the sisters left the facility and returned to the motherhouse due to a shortage of sisters .
In 1988 the private care service Kuijpers took over the house with 26 people. Extensive construction work has been carried out over time. The old monastery and chapel had to give way to a new building . When designing the new house, it was planned to build a house chapel on the ground floor . A chapel room was created, the size of which can be changed depending on the requirements. The bell donated in 1958 now stands on the site of the former chapel. The two-storey house has been completed since 2005 and accommodates 80 people in need of care.
