Karl Egon Prince of Ratibor and Corvey , Prince of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst , (born July 7, 1860 at Rauden Castle , † April 11, 1931 at Corvey Castle ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

He came from the Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst family. His father was Victor I. Duke of Ratibor , his mother Amalie von Fürstenberg.

Ratibor studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He had been a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn since 1882 and of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen since 1890 , where he had already been a connoisseur as a student . He was promoted to Dr. iur. utr. PhD . He then completed the usual preparatory service in the Prussian administration of justice and administration. In 1887 he was appointed a government assessor . From 1887 to 1896 he was district administrator in the district of Lublinitz . Since 1896 he was police director in Wiesbaden with the honorary title of police chief. From 1902 to 1910 he was district president in the Aurich district and from 1910 to 1911 district president in the Koblenz district . Between 1911 and 1919 he was President of the Province of Westphalia . In the same year he left the civil service. In connection with his function as senior president, he was also the curator of the Westphalian Wilhelms University and the Westphalian Antiquities Association . He also held other honorary positions in various areas of the canal administration. He was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Silesia . In Wiesbaden and Aurich streets are named after him (Prinz-Ratibor-Straße).
