The men's pole vault at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held on August 9 and 11, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .

The Ukrainian Olympic champion from 1988 , European champion from 1986 and world record holder Serhiy Bubka won his fifth World Championship title in a row, having won all previous World Championship pole vault competitions. Until 1991 he started for the Soviet Union . Second place went to the 1992 Olympic champion - then starting for the so-called United Team - and third in the 1993 World Cup, Maxim Tarasov from Russia . Bronze went to the French European Championship third from 1994 Jean Galfione .

qualification

August 9, 1995, 4:30 p.m.

37 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 5.70 m. Two athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the ten next-placed athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). Nine of them had jumped 5.65 m. By applying the failed attempt rule, one of the six athletes who had mastered 5.55 m also qualified for the final.

The jump heights in the two qualification groups were as follows:
5.20 - 5.40 - 5.55 - 5.65 - 5.70
