Leodegar-von-Autun-Church

Leodegarkirche are churches and chapels that are dedicated or consecrated to St. Bishop Leodegar von Autun († 678/679). Patronage day is October 2nd , the Guardian Angel Festival (also Leodegarstag), translation of the bones also March 16th .

The saint is particularly venerated in Burgundy , Franche-Comté , Alsace , all of France and Belgium , as well as in the Baden region and in the canton of Lucerne (patron saint of the canton) and the Swiss neighborhood.

  • Main churches are the burial place in the monastery of St. Maxentius in Poitiers and the relics in the Abbey Church of St-Léger in Ébreuil .
  • There are also isolated cases of double patronage with his brother, St. Gerinus (same day of remembrance).
