The place setting for Hildegard von Bingen on the dinner party table is based on the structure of a Gothic cathedral. The butterfly shape that adorns your plate is painted like a stained glass window in a cathedral. The painting changes depending on the perspective on the plate and the shimmering colors play with light and shadow. The table runner takes up the Gothic elements, the dominant structure on the runner are Gothic arches that served as a support for every cathedral. The plate is placed in the center of an arch and looks like a rose window in a cathedral. The arches are embroidered using the technique of Opus Anglicanum , a figurative, English-influenced embroidery style, which was also used on church robes and was an expensive embroidery due to the delicacy of the stitch and the attached gold thread. Through her contact with bishops and kings Hildegard came into contact with this form of embroidery, which can be found on their robes. In the foundation of the arches on the table runner, two more stained glass windows are embroidered to the right and left of your name. The topic is also recorded in the initial letter "H" on the front of the runner. It is also adorned with structures reminiscent of stained glass windows. The back is adorned with a vision of Hildegard. Chicago took up Hildegardi's vision of space for this. It is deep blue in the center with interspersed stars and faces that breathe life into the universe. Outside there is a ring of abstract flames in burgundy and dark orange. The outermost part is raised gold embroidery, done in the technique of Opus Anglicanum.
