This list of MPs to the Vienna Landtag and members of the Vienna City Council (8th electoral term) lists all MPs to the Vienna Landtag and City Council in the 8th electoral term. The electoral period lasted from October 25, 1959 to October 25, 1964. The inauguration of the deputies took place in the first session on December 11, 1959, with the first session of the state parliament and the municipal council taking place on the same day. After the state and municipal council elections in 1959 , 60 of the 100 seats were held by the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), 33 by the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), 4 by the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and 3 by the Communists and Left Socialists (LKS) . The state parliament elected the state government Jonas III on December 11, 1964 .

Functions

Landtag President

The function of 1st President of the State Parliament had been held by the SPÖ MP Bruno Marek since 1949 , who also held this office during this electoral term. The ÖVP member Karl Mühlhauser was also the second president of the state parliament since 1949 . He also exercised his office throughout the entire electoral term. The office of 3rd President of the State Parliament had been held by Helene Potetz (SPÖ) since July 1959 , who was re-elected in December 1959.

Chairman of the municipal council

During the entire electoral period, the chairmen of the municipal council were Helene Potetz (SPÖ), Franz Jonas (SPÖ), Franz Hengl (ÖVP), Johannes Lust (ÖVP), Karl Fürstenhofer (SPÖ) and Bruno Marek (SPÖ).

Club chairmen

The function of the club chairman took over in the SPÖ Wilhelm Stemmer . In the ÖVP, the 2nd President of the State Parliament, Karl Mühlhauser, was the club chairman. The FPÖ club chairman was Albert Schmidt .
