In the Hammerbrook district (district numbers 115–118), 4619 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) live on 3.8 km². Hammerbrook is in the postcode areas 20097 and 20537. Hammerbrook has 81 designated traffic areas, including five squares, 20 bridges and two tunnels. In addition to historical land names, people or other references to Hammerbrook's history, there are some streets that are named after medieval tribes (Franks, Frisians, Goths, Saxons, Vandals).

Former traffic areas
Westerstraße - already fenced in and no longer accessible to the public before 2018 - no longer exists, the area is currently being built on. Nevertheless, it is still listed in the current street and area directory.
