List of Danish milestones in Hamburg and Holstein
The list of Danish milestones in Hamburg and Holstein includes the milestones on the roads from Altona to Kiel , Lübeck and Neustadt , the road from Hamburg to Elmenhorst , and a single milestone on the road from Segeberg to Bramstedt or Neumünster . These roads were built between 1830 and 1845 in the then Danish Duchy of Holstein and, together with the first railway lines, formed the basis of a modern transport infrastructure. The milestones with their royal monograms were also a symbol of Danish rule in Holstein, which had belonged to the German Confederation since 1815 .
The milestones are located on the north and west side of the streets. The distances on the milestones are given in Danish miles of 7.532 kilometers.
The milestones are under monument protection in both Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. In the tables, the monument protection lists are given in which the milestones are recorded.
- Note: The order of the tables depends on the age of the streets. Within the tables, the milestones are sorted from south to north. Connections to other streets on the list are also marked and provided with links to the corresponding tables.
Altona-Kieler Chaussee
The milestones on the Altona-Kieler Chaussee are truncated cones. The full milestones (V) each bear a highlighted royal monogram Frederik VI on the front . and below it the year 1832. The half-milestones (H) also have the distance indication "½ M" under the year; the full milestones show the distance to Altona or Kiel on the left and right. The beginning of the street in Kiel is marked by an obelisk (O).
Note: The monument lists are not numbered in the Pinneberg district and in Neumünster.
