action

After ex-CIA agent Jack Byrnes gave the nurse Gaylord "Greg" Focker permission to marry his daughter Pam Byrnes, Jack now wants to meet Greg's parents. To do this, Greg and his fiancée Pam go to see his future in-laws in Miami. Once there, they learn that the journey to the Fockers will take place in Jack's luxurious motorhome. Also part of the party is Jack's grandson, called "Little Jack", the little son of Pam's sister, who is on a honeymoon with her husband.

Greg's parents Bernie and Roz Focker are the exact opposite of the conservative Jack and his wife Dina: Bernie quit his job as a lawyer early to raise his son at home, his wife Roz is a sex therapist for seniors. The pets of the two different families don't seem to get along either: When "Moses" (the Fockers' dog) in the motorhome on "Mr. Jinx ”(Byrnes's cat), a wild chase ensues, at the end of which the cat flushes the little dog down in the motorhome toilet. In order to save the dog's life, Bernie has to tear the toilet out of its anchoring, which in turn creates a bad mood for the motorhome owner Jack.

The next day, Pam is certain that she is pregnant. She asks her fiancé Greg not to reveal anything to the others; she fears a quarrel with her conservative father over a pregnancy before marriage.

Roz begins to give Dina tips on how she can loosen up the relationship with her wooden husband Jack and get her sleepy sex life going again. In the meantime, Bernie drives Jack to see Jorge Villalobos, whom he recommended to him for the repair of his motor home. Jorge is the son of Isabel, the housekeeper for the Fockers, who used to be Greg's tutor. The night before, Bernie had said in his blunt frankness that his son Greg had lost his virginity to Isabel at the age of 19.

When Jack sees the young Jorge, he discovers a certain similarity of the facial features with Greg. When he finds out that Jorge is 15 years old and does not know his father, he suspects that he is an illegitimate child of his future son-in-law Greg.

From his camouflaged communications center in the motorhome, Jack contacts former CIA colleagues who are supposed to corroborate his suspicions using a DNA analysis . In order to obtain DNA material, he invites Jorge to the planned Fockers celebration the next day. In addition, he injects Greg with a truth serum during the ceremony to force him to confess.

It is through the Truth Serum that everyone learns of Pam's pregnancy. Greg also admits Jorge's alleged paternity. The next morning, Greg himself doesn't remember the events of the previous day and doesn't understand why Pam is angry with him and Jack leaves early after an argument. He takes his grandson Little Jack with him, his wife Dina stays with the Fockers. While driving the car, he receives the results of the DNA analysis: Greg is not Jorge's father. Jack then decides to turn back.

Meanwhile, Greg and Bernie, who followed Jack in the car, have been arrested by an overzealous police officer on a minor matter. When Jack notices this, he wants to free both of them from their predicament and is arrested in the process. In jail, Bernie and Jack reconcile, and thanks to a judge who happens to be a grateful patient of Roz's sex therapy, they get free and hold the wedding the following weekend. So the Byrnes are "fockerized" for a weekend and in the end they are one big, loving family.

Reviews

“Mediocre, loveless comedy with rather crude, not very original gags at the level of relevant teenage antics. It is only thanks to the routine of the renowned actors that some amusing moments arise. "

"The freshness and independence of the first film have been lost somewhat, but a lack of originality replaces Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand in the roles of Gaylord's fun-loving hippie parents Bernie and Roz."

“After the success of the exaggerated slap of ' my bride, her father and me ', the story continues. Fortunately, this time the exaggerations are kept within limits and according to the predictable story, tolerance and nonchalance will win in the end. But the biggest plus of the comedy is clearly the (again, but this time comical) meeting of the acting giants Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman, as well as the successful appearance of Barbra Streisand as sex therapist Roz Focker after a long absence. "
