Nils Quaschner (born April 22, 1994 in Stralsund ) is a German football player who can be used as a two-footed offensive player both in attack and in midfield . He is under contract with Arminia Bielefeld .

Career

Childhood in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Quaschner began his footballing career at the age of four in his hometown, where he played for the youth teams of FC Pommern Stralsund for several years . In 2007, Hansa Rostock became aware of the now 13-year-old Quaschner and invited him to a trial training session, after which he moved to Rostock .

For Hansa Quaschner first played in the second C-youth team (also called U14), which competed in the C-youth state league Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2007/08, which was the top division in this age group. During the season, however, Quaschner was also used for Rostock's first C youth team (U15), which played in the next year and thus in the third - class B youth national league behind the U-17 Bundesliga and U-17 regional league participated. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season, Quaschner was also a member of the Rostock U15, depending on his age; from November 2008, however, he was already playing for the youth B-group, which was supervised by Roland Kroos, in the U-17 Bundesliga. In the league, Quaschner then advanced with six goals in 13 missions during the 2008/09 season to the top performers of his team and thus contributed to fifth place in the final table. At the same time, Quaschner attended the Heinrich Schütz Realschule, which had only recently been recognized as the elite school of football .

For the 2009/10 season of the U-17 Bundesliga, Quaschner also moved up to the B-youth group according to his age, which started the most successful period of his career to date. In the course of the season Quaschner scored a total of 13 goals in 25 missions, which not only made a significant contribution to the fourth place in the final table, but also attracted the attention of the German Football Association . On October 14, 2009, he wore the shirt of the U-16 national team coached by Steffen Freund for the first time and scored his first goal in the game against Belgium . By June 2010, he was then called up in another five games of the U-16 selection, in which he scored four more goals.

Youth football at Hansa Rostock

At the end of the 2009/10 season, Quaschner was appointed to the Rostock A-youth for the first time, although actually still in his first B-youth year. In the 2009/10 season of the U-19 Bundesliga under coach Michael Hartmann, they won the season's championship and thus qualified for the final round of the German A-Juniors championship. In the final, which took place in Leverkusen on June 27, 2010 , the team finally won the German championship for the first time with a 1-0 win over Bayer 04 Leverkusen , which Quaschner also played a part in when he came on in the 82nd minute.

The following season, however, should be less successful. Quaschner was now officially part of the A-youth squad as a B-youth in the 2010/11 season ; under coach Roland Kroos, however, this was not able to build on the success of the previous year and only finished fifth in its season. Quaschner had scored six goals for the Rostock team in his nine missions, but compared to his up to two years older competition in the Rostock attack, he had not been able to earn a regular place. Quaschner was therefore partly still called up for the Rostock B-youth, for whom he scored five goals in a total of seven appearances under coach Jens Dowe during the 2010/11 season . However, the team finally rose to the U-17 regional league as twelfth in the table, which meant the worst result of the season for the Rostock B-youth since the U-17 Bundesliga was founded. At the end of the season, Quaschner was able to record at least one small success with the A-youth team, when the team made it into the finals of the 2010/11 Junior Club Cup . There, however, Hansa lost to SC Freiburg on penalties, in which Quaschner had also played for Rostock and converted his penalty.

Quaschner had meanwhile moved up to the U-17 team of the German national team and scored his first goal against Israel on his debut on October 17, 2010 . In the spring of 2011 he then also played for Germany in the successful qualification for the U-17 European Championship , whereupon he was appointed to the German squad for the European Championship finals held in Serbia in May 2011 . There he was used in the first round game as well as in the semifinals, in the latter he achieved the 2-0 final score in the victory over Denmark . In the final, which Germany lost to the Netherlands , Quaschner was no longer used. With this placement as runner-up European champion, the team had qualified for the subsequent U-17 World Cup, so Quaschner was also part of the German squad, which took part in the World Cup finals held in Mexico in June 2011 . There the team achieved the bronze medal, but coach Freund had mostly used the Leverkusen player Samed Yesil as the only striker as he did during the European Championship , so Quaschner was only used in the last group game.

In the 2011/12 season Quaschner played twenty times for Hansa in the U-19 Bundesliga and scored a total of ten goals.

Beginnings in professional football

Although Quaschner was eligible to play for the U-19s for another year, Wolfgang Wolf appointed him to the Rostock professional squad in summer 2012, who had been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga to the 3rd division shortly before . In this Quaschner made his debut in men's football on August 4, 2012 and came to another twelve appearances in the course of the first half of 2012/13 . From the twelfth day onwards he was mostly in midfield as a replacement for the injured Edisson Jordanov , so that his goal on the sixth day against Darmstadt should be his only one during this season. For Rostock's reserve team, he had also scored a goal in his only appearance during the first half of the season.

At the beginning of the second half of the season, Quaschner did not play in the Rostock professional team, whose coaching position had meanwhile been transferred to Marc Fascher , because he suffered successively from knee and muscular problems. After his recovery, he was only called up twice in the reserve team in April 2013 and played in two games in the U-19 Bundesliga for Hansa's A-youth in the following May. This qualified as runner-up in the North / Northeast relay for the final round of the 2013 German championship , so Quaschner took part in this competition a second time three years after winning the title. In the semifinals he scored the goals for his team against Bayern Munich both in a 2-0 win in Munich and in a 1-1 draw in Rostock, which consequently moved into the final. Against the A-youth of VfL Wolfsburg it was lost 3-1 after extra time.

Change to Austria

Meanwhile, Quaschner had also been courted by Bundesliga clubs such as Hamburger SV and Borussia Dortmund , but at the beginning of July 2013 he confessed to his contract with Hansa Rostock. Nevertheless, a possible change from Quaschner to RB Leipzig , which is closely associated with the Austrian beverage manufacturer Red Bull , was reported below . There was no subsequent change, but Quaschner changed clubs in mid-July 2013 by transferring himself to the Austrian FC Liefering , the Red Bull Salzburg farm team . He should recommend himself for further career steps through appearances in the second-rate first division . According to media reports, Hansa received a transfer payment of 300,000 euros for this transfer.

In January 2015 Quaschner should move back to Germany and join the second division promoted RB Leipzig . On January 27, 2015, it was announced that Quaschner would not be eligible to play for RB Leipzig due to a negative FIFA decision. The reason for this was that Quaschner had already played competitive games for two different clubs in the current season and assignments for a third club are prohibited. FIFA did not rate FC Liefering as a youth team for FC Red Bull Salzburg, but as an independent club. Quaschner could have been registered for RB Leipzig, but would not have been eligible to play until the end of the season. Therefore he returned to Salzburg. On June 6, 2015, it was announced at a press conference that the transfer would take place in summer 2015.

For the 2016/17 season he was awarded to VfL Bochum .

A year later, his contract in Leipzig was dissolved and Quaschner moved to the second division Arminia Bielefeld free of charge. Due to many setbacks in injuries, Quaschner was only able to play four competitive games in his first year and a half with the East Westphalia.
