Novopokrowka ( Ukrainian and Russian Новопокровка ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with around 1,900 inhabitants (2012).
geography
Novopokrowka is located in the south of the Solone Rajon on the right bank of a 283 hectare reservoir, to which the Komyschuwata Sura (Ukrainian Камишевата Сура ), a 55 km long tributary of the Mokra Sura , is dammed here.
The village is 67 km southwest of the Dnipro Oblast center and 27 km southwest of the Solone district center .
In addition to Nowopokrowka, the settlement council also includes the villages:
- Kotlyivka ( Котлярівка ⊙ ); 77.23 hectares, 209 inhabitants
- Malynowe ( Малинове ⊙ ); 62.12 hectares, 103 inhabitants
- Druscheljubiwka ( Дружелюбівка ⊙ ); 73.08 hectares, 98 inhabitants
history
In 1783 the village was founded after the founder, Schamschowe ( Шамшове named). In 1848 the village was renamed Pokrovka ( Покровка ) and in 1946 Novopokrowka. In 1960 the village was raised to the rank of urban-type settlement.
