Parnay is a French municipality with 431 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saumur and the canton of Saumur (until 2015: canton of Saumur-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Parnaisiens .

geography

Parnay is located about seven kilometers east-southeast of the city center of Saumur in the Saumurois on the Loire . Parnay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Varennes-sur-Loire in the north and northeast, Turquant in the south and east and Souzay-Champigny in the west.
