Piateda is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2144 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy .

geography

The municipality is located about 4.5 kilometers east-southeast of Sondrio on the Adda and borders directly on the province of Bergamo . The neighboring municipalities are Albosaggia , Caiolo , Carona (BG), Faedo Valtellino , Montagna in Valtellina , Poggiridenti , Ponte in Valtellina , Tresivio and Valbondione (BG).

• Parish church of Santissimo Crocifisso in the Pianteda al Piano district with painting San Vittore by the painter Pietro Ligari (1739).
• Church of Sant'Agostino in the fraction Agneda with painting Madonna and Child with Saints Agostino and Antonio Cipriano Valorsa (1597).
• The oldest is the parish church of Santa Caterina from the 16th century in the Boffetto district. In the Baroque style, it is rich in valuable works, most of which were carried out between the 17th and 18th centuries.
