The Q School 2019/2 was the second of three qualifying tournaments for the Snooker Main Tour . The winners in the four groups of this tournament were given the right to start for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons . The games took place immediately after the first tournament from May 24-29, 2019 at the Robin Park Leisure Center in Wigan .

As before, there were four German, two Austrian and two Swiss players in the tournament. Lukas Kleckers , who had reached one of the four finals in the first tournament, had no chance this time in round 3 against Chen Zifan , who only gave 3 frames in 6 games and won Group 1 with ease . Alexander Ursenbacher failed a round earlier against Riley Parsons , albeit just 3: 4. The Englishman later also won his group. The young Austrian Florian Nüßle had a difficult draw and still prevailed against ex-professionals Kuldesh Johal and Chris Totten before losing to Louis Heathcote , another group winner. His compatriot Andreas Ploner was the only player from the German-speaking countries who made it to round 4, all other amateurs lost in round 1 or 2.

Chen Zifan had only finished the past season in 102nd place , but was able to extend his professional time by two years thanks to his group victory. He had already qualified through the Q School for the first time in 2017. The Scot Fraser Patrick had to take a two-year break before returning to the Main Tour for his professional years 5 and 6. As sovereign as Chen he prevailed in his tournament branch, only the game against Andy Hicks was fought. The other two players who made it through were newcomers to the tour. Louis Heathcote made it to the group final without any problems, even beating Aditya Mehta 4-2, but in the final against Si Jiahui he seemed to fail shortly before the goal. His opponent already led 3-0, then the Englishman caught up and won in the decisive frame. Riley Parsons boosted his 4: 3 opening win against Alexander Ursenbacher, who was still playing on the Main Tour in the past season. He won the next three games against amateurs before the second challenge awaited in the group final: Peter Lines had just had to leave the tour and was one of the most experienced participants. Despite 2: 3 deficit, Parsons won the game in the decider.

Results

218 players had registered for the tournament, four of them had already qualified for the Main Tour via tournament 1. They no longer competed and the opponents assigned to them were automatically in round 2. Thus 214 players fought for the 4 qualification places that were available in this tournament. According to the official tournament mode, the tournament was played in 6 rounds until the four semi-finalists were determined. The semi-finals and finals were then no longer held. 180 players competed against each other in round 1, 38 players were seeded for round 2. All games were played in best-of-7 mode (4 winning frames).

For the sake of clarity, the results are presented in 4 groups, each representing a quarter of the tournament tree.
