Clean C12

The Sauber C12 was the first Formula 1 racing car from Sauber Motorsport and was used in all races of the 1993 Formula 1 World Championship .

Technology and development

The C12 was designed by Harvey Postlethwaite in 1992 and developed in detail by Leo Ress . The V10 engine with 3.5 l displacement came from Ilmor and was developed in collaboration with Mercedes . It was called the Sauber 2175.

The fuel for the C12 came from Elf and, like all other teams, Goodyear was the tire supplier.

Painting and sponsorship

The basic color of the C12 was black. The front and rear wings were white. The word concept by Mercedes-Benz was on the bonnet . Sponsor stickers from the oil supplier Liqui Moly were attached to the sides of the rear wing and the logos on the air deflectors of the front wing.

The drivers for all 16 races of the season were Karl Wendlinger and JJ Lehto .
