The Sauber C34 is the Formula 1 - racing car of Sauber Motorsport for the Formula 1 World Championship 2015 . It is the 23rd Sauber Formula 1 car. It was presented on the Internet on January 30, 2015.
As with all Sauber vehicles, the name of the car is composed of the C for Christiane, Peter Sauber's wife , followed by a consecutive number.
Technology and development
The C34 is the successor to the C33 . Although the vehicle is a further development of the previous model, it is visually different due to rule changes for the 2015 Formula 1 season, as the provisions in the area of the vehicle nose have been significantly changed. The nose protrudes far beyond the front wing, similar to the Ferrari SF15-T .
There are also significant changes in the area of the airbox, the air inlet above the cockpit. The airbox is now provided with two additional shafts that are attached to the side. The side pods are narrower than on the previous year's car, and the arrangement of the radiators has been fundamentally revised. In addition, emphasis was placed on a high degree of flexibility in the cooling system so that it can be adapted to the temperatures and the route characteristics.
The dampers on the front axle are actuated with struts, there are only a few changes compared to the C33. The wheel suspension on the rear axle is still operated by tension struts, but is otherwise a completely new development to improve the vehicle's traction.
The C34 is powered by the Ferrari 059/4 , a 1.6-liter V6 engine with a turbocharger . The gearbox is also from Ferrari.
Painting and sponsorship
The C34 is mainly painted blue, the side boxes are yellow and white and have sponsor stickers from Banco do Brasil . During the test drives before the season in Barcelona, there was also a yellow trim strip on the nose and the side mirrors painted in yellow.
In addition, FC Chelsea , OC Oerlikon , Pirelli and Silanna advertise on the vehicle.

In the 2015 season, Sauber competed with a new pair of drivers. Marcus Ericsson drove for Caterham last year , Felipe Nasr was test and reserve driver for Williams . Raffaele Marciello was the test and reserve driver .
